Coming Soon!  The Third Annual Fur Ball 2009

The Second Annual Fur Ball 2008

The (2nd Annual) Fur Ball (on October 17, 2008) was an extravaganza!  As guest of the Stones River Country Club in Murfreesboro, TN, the black-tie fundraiser raised over $3,000.00 to benefit On The Fifth Day (Animal Sanctuary) which continues on its path to raise $100,000 to purchase sanctuary land, the first dog run and administrative building. There was cocktails and dancing, and a silent auction. And making a return appearance with their dynamic and entertaining show was crowd (and animal) favorite, Radio Daze Big Band .

The First Annual Fur Ball 2007

(on October 5, 2007) was Furbulous! (I'm so sorry. It absolutely called for it.) The models dazzled, the band was phenomenal, and everyone loved the Vegetarian/Vegan fare! Well. Almost. The support and encouragement from guests was inspiring, and the "2nd Annual" is already being booked! What a perfect kick-off for ON THE FIFTH DAY's campaign to raise $100,000 for projected groundbreaking ceremonies in 2009.

Yes, we're still looking for land, and in the interim, we are fundraising so that when the place the sanctuary is supposed to be presents itself, we are ready for it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to our guests, to the auction participants, to the Steering Committee, to the Stones River Country Club and its employees, and for supporting our cause to end the killing and to take loving care of every animal here.

Warmly,

Jen G. Hilsher

PLEASE DO WHAT YOU CAN TO ENSURE THE OTFD FACILITY IS BUILT THIS SPRING!

After years of not knowing why my love and concern for animals ran so deeply, I was inspired in 2003 to open On The Fifth Day. As a community, as a society, as caregivers to species who cannot yell out, "Please help me," we can no longer ignore the egregious state of animal overpopulation and abuse in Middle Tennessee.

"GOING GREEN" means more than saving the environment, the ozone, and recycling. We must save the animals as well.

We will build a sanctuary where they can be mended physically and emotionally, where their quality of life can soar, and where they have the chance to find a permanent home with someone who knows how to love an animal. All of God's creatures deserve this.

Most importantly - all of them, will be loved and protected. Just as they were when they were created…
On The Fifth Day.
